Why Native American Day, Not Black Friday

We made this choice on purpose. Thanksgiving carries a history that doesn't reflect who we are, wrapped in a consumerism holiday that has nothing to do with our craft, that's not a moment we want our name attached to. And because everything we make is handcrafted, not mass-produced, we don't have warehouses of unsold stock to clear out the way most brands do around Black Friday. That reason for a sale simply doesn't apply to us.

But we still wanted to give something back to the people who support our family and our craft all year long. So instead, we celebrate on Native American Day,  taking back a date on the calendar once held by Columbus Day, and making it a moment that's ours.

Why We Only Do This Once A Year

No Black Friday sale. No flash sales stacked on top of flash sales. This is the one week a year everything at Cherokee Copper, every piece, every collection  is discounted at the same time. Stock is limited, a few new designs will make their debut, and some styles will sell out fast. Early Access means you're first in line before the public sale even opens.

What happens if I miss Early Access?

You can still shop the public sale starting October 10 and save 15% sitewide but Early Access shoppers get first pick before limited styles sell out.

Why does Cherokee Copper hold its sale on Native American Day instead of Black Friday?

We chose not to tie our sale to Thanksgiving or Black Friday  that holiday carries a history and a consumerism culture that doesn't reflect our brand, and because we're handcrafted, we don't have overstock to clear out the way that sale is built for. Instead, we celebrate on Native American Day, reclaiming a date once held by Columbus Day, on our own terms.
