Every piece in this collection comes straight from Joshua Stice's workbench — shaped by hand using the traditional Cherokee technique of cold hammering copper, the same method Cherokee metalworkers have used for generations.
Joshua is a second-generation Cherokee coppersmith and 1st Place Emerging Artist at the Cherokee Homecoming Art Show. He learned the craft alongside his father, award-winning Cherokee artist Greg Stice, in the family's home studio in Oklahoma. What you'll find here isn't mass-produced. It's not Cherokee-inspired. It's Cherokee-made — crafted by hand, one piece at a time, by an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
Cold hammering is a time-honored process where raw copper is shaped entirely by hand without heat. Each strike of the hammer creates the unique texture and character you see in Joshua's work — no two pieces are exactly alike. This technique connects every bracelet, cuff, and pair of earrings directly to centuries of Cherokee artisan tradition.
When you wear a piece from Joshua's bench, you're carrying forward a living tradition. You're supporting a young Cherokee artist building on the foundation of his family's craft. And you're getting a piece of jewelry that was made with intention, pride, and a whole lot of copper dust.
Cherokee Copper complies with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, ensuring every piece is authentically crafted by Cherokee artisans.
